Twitter tests a new cropping tool for specific iOS hosts

Twitter has started testing a new snipping tool for Spaces. Selected owners on iOS can capture 30 seconds of audio to share with others on Twitter. All iOS users can see and listen to the clips on their chat lines. Twitter announces that the new feature will be coming to web and Android apps soon.

Users will be able to create audio clips from recorded spaces that can be shared via a tweet that will also be linked to the entire recording. The new tool is a way for them to increase interest in their spaces and will also highlight specific parts of a broadcast without having to share an entire recording.

Clubhouse, the social audio app that fueled the launch of Twitter Spaces, launched the feature in September 2021. This feature allows live listeners in public rooms to clip the most recent 30 seconds of audio and share it anywhere. These can be shared on other social media platforms. The cropping function Clubhouse differs from the one you are testing Twitter because their tool allows all users to create clips, rather than just the owners of a community. Since the tool Twitter is still in the testing phase, it is possible that the company will modify it before officially launching it.

Spaces has been introducing various functions of Spaces lately to develop a better offer. The company has been working on Spaces Recordings, a feature that will allow community leaders to share tweets with audio recordings of Spaces previous. At the beginning of this year, Spaces It gave those who shared recorded slots the ability to see how many listeners joined live, as well as how many people played the recording afterwards.

Live audio grew in popularity during the pandemic as people around the world were confined to their homes. But, as restrictions have been lifted in many countries and in-person events have returned, companies that offer live audio room capabilities like Twitter and Clubhouse seek to retain users by launching new features.
