Canva introduces a host of new features, including several AI-powered tools

Canva introduces a number of new features, such as a suite of AI-powered tools and a new Brand Hub. The company has unveiled the new features and tools during its virtual Canva Create event.

The company launches Assistant, that allows users to search for design elements and provides quick access to features. The tool can also offer recommendations for graphics and styles to match your existing design. Assistant provides quick access to AI-powered design tools, like Magic Write, the AI-powered writing assistant that the platform launched in December.

Starting today, you will be able to access Magic Write on all types of Canva projects, from presentations to social media graphics, flyers, and more. Prior to this expansion, Magic Write was only accessible in Canva Docs.

You can use Magic Write to write website copy or presentation summaries. For example, you can ask Magic Write to come up with a list of social media strategy ideas for a new product launch. The tool takes into account the type of project you are working on when suggesting texts. In addition to expanding availability, Canva has announced that Magic Write is now available in 18 languages.

Canva has also released a new way to automatically generate presentations. You can ask the editor to create a series of presentations with an outline and content on each slide. As for design, the company's new "Magic Design" tool allows users to upload an image and then select a style for a selection of custom templates that can be customized.

We also have the new function "Magic Edition", which allows you to add or replace any element of an image. You can identify where you want to add something and describe it to Magic Edit. The new “Magic Eraser” feature allows you to clean up unwanted detail in images by brushing over the area.

Canva also launches "Beat Sync", which automatically combines video footage with the soundtrack of your choice, and a new feature "Translate" that automatically translates the text of the designs into more than 100 different languages.

In addition to the new AI-powered tools, Canva is introducing a number of new features that it says have been requested by users.

First, the company launches «Draw", which allows you to sketch a simple shape, such as a circle, and transform it into a smooth circle. The new feature «Designs» allows users to add content to a page and get recommendations for design layout ideas, while «Styles» offers users the ability to explore color palettes and suggested fonts.

The new tool «Layers» allows you to see all the elements in one place: text, shapes, images and video.

Canva now supports Alt Text, which means you can provide additional context to your images and elements to describe them to people with visual impairments or accessibility needs. Another innovation is the addition of 953 new fonts, such as Arial, Courier, Helvetica and Times New Roman.

The company also launches brand hub, a series of new tools and features designed to help teams stay on brand. The hub includes a new "Magic Replace" tool that allows users to quickly update brand assets, such as logos, across all designs on the platform.

Additionally, the hub includes tools that help create templates, folders, and brand guidelines. Admins can also approve workflows directly in Canva to ensure designs are reviewed and approved before going live.

“Ten years ago, we launched Canva driven by a vision to empower everyone to design anything, no matter their skills or experience,” Canva co-founder and CEO Melanie Perkins said in a statement. “Today, we are delighted to advance that vision by introducing a new range of features, focused on empowering brands to scale their creative results. As technology continues to advance, we're reimagining the design process by making it even easier to take what's in your head, put it on a page, and go out into the world, faster than ever."

Launched in 2013, Canva now has more than 120 million monthly users, 35 million more than it had before the launch of Visual Worksuite in September 2022. The company claims that more than 15.000 billion designs have been created with its platform.
