Unique, a video calling platform that uses artificial intelligence to make it easier for sales teams to improve their presentations, has closed a seed round of 6 million from a group of business angels, including Phillip Stauffer, founder and general partner of Fyrfly Venture Partners, and Daniel Gutenberg.
Unique uses AI to analyze conversations with customers. The video recordings that are then produced help the sales staff determine which parts of your speech have the best response.
You can do this in 12 languages, including German and Swiss. The advantage, says the company, is that this practice reduces the time to train salespeople and improve their performance. It will also capture key moments from the sales video call that are shared securely in a space they call the “Deal Room” that buyers can access, view, and share from their personal computers.
The company was founded by serial entrepreneurs Manuel Grenacher and Andreas Hauri, following their own experiences building and leading a sales team at Coresystems, a B2B SaaS startup they previously sold to SAP.
Grenacher commented, “With remote and hybrid work now an established practice, sales teams are often cut off from their customers, prospects, and their own colleagues and managers. This makes it hard to connect with customers and learn with the team, get feedback, and improve. we are building Unique to reinvent the sales process, using AI to analyze conversations to drive key moments of insight and connection to help sales teams and customers build deeper, more productive relationships.”
Philipp Stauffer, Investor: “The intersection of sales force automation and conversational intelligence markets will be catapulted forward both in terms of purchasing priority at Fortune500 companies and growth rates. The value creation opportunity to improve sales results is simply huge.”
Unique compete with gong.io y People.AI, (both unicorns). However, where the startup may have an advantage is with its "Deal Room" approach, plus the fact that it's built in Europe and therefore compliant with strict GDPR privacy regulations, plus its localization. and that of the EU.
