This Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 12 in the morning, Golfo has died in his bed. Golfito entered my life a little over 12 years ago. His heart, his being, only contained love, attention, intelligence and affection.
Like every human being, I have had different moments with varying degrees of complexity. Golfo always knew what I needed and responded in such a way that any concern disappeared. Giving him the best life and happiness was not an obligation, but a pleasure to see him enjoy each installment.
His existence was oriented so that everyone who met him, even punctually, would receive infinite goodness.
Except in recent months in a very punctual manner, we have never been apart for more than a few hours, he has enjoyed himself, and he has passed away painlessly, with care, and calmly in his bed when he has decided and with me by his side. He has also done his best.
He accompanied me at all times with an emotional intelligence as beautiful as it was powerful and without limits. I know that some will call it instinct, behavior, etc. I don't argue. I am not a psychologist, biologist, veterinarian or someone with that knowledge or criteria.
Even being older, with normal age issues, there was nothing to suspect that this weekend would be like that.
The emptiness, the pain for his loss, is as great as everything he has given me. I hope that pain is mitigated, its memory never.
For every ounce of love we give our pets, they give it back to us without limits or conditions.
