Adobe Firefly has more than 20 generative and creative APIs for developers

Adobe, via Firefly, has a set of more than 20 new APIs for generative and creative tools and services. Firefly Services makes some of the company's AI-powered features available to developers from its Creative Cloud tools, like Photoshop, to accelerate content creation in their custom workflows, or create entirely new solutions.

Additionally, the company also launched Custom Models, which allow companies to adjust Firefly models based on their assets. Custom Models is now integrated into Adobe's new GenStudio.

Adobe describes Firefly services as a “full suite of generative AI and creative APIs that automates workflows.” Includes APIs for removing backgrounds, intelligently cropping images, and automatically leveling the horizon in a photo, as well as access to core AI-powered Photoshop features like Generative Fill and Zoom. In addition to these AI features, Firefly Services also exposes tools for editing text layers, tagging content, and applying Lightroom presets, for example.

“As consumer expectations around AI-powered generative personalization continue to rise, Firefly services and personalized models are first-of-its-kind offerings that open up the possibility for brands to have powerful personalization capabilities and more.” control when defining your automation processes,” said David Wadhwani, president of Digital Media Business at Adobe. “Brands are turning to Adobe to move their investments in generative AI from test environments to production.”

As with most of Adobe's enterprise-focused generative AI use cases, all of these new tools are intended to help brands accelerate their content creation workflows. However, while many companies want to use generative AI, they are also concerned about brand safety, which has prevented many of them from putting these tools into production. From the beginning, Adobe positioned Firefly as a safe alternative for the brand to other models and this new set of services continues that tradition.

“Rising expectations about customer experiences have forced brands to rethink how they produce and personalize marketing content at scale,” said Billy Seabrook, global design director at IBM Consulting. “Adobe applications have been instrumental in our creative process and now, with Firefly, we can quickly generate images and templates in a variety of styles and sizes to align with brand standards and allow more people to participate in the creative process. »
