Twitter is working on an option for podcasts

As Twitter continues to develop its Spaces live audio product, the platform may soon go a step further by launching a dedicated podcasts tab on its mobile apps.

According to developers looking through mobile app code to spot features in development, this addition would create a dedicated space in Twitter to host podcasts.

when asking to Twitter whether users could expect this feature to be rolled out, a spokesperson said: "We're always exploring new ways to help people engage in conversation on Twitter, but we have no further details to share at this time."

Twitter has worked on a number of podcast-like features to expand the capabilities of its live audio spaces. Just like Clubhouse, Twitter now allows users to listen to Spaces after the live recording, helping hosts get more engagement from a new audience of asynchronous listeners. When users listen to a live recorded space, they will see a red record button. Twitter is also rolling out a feature that allows creators to view listening stats about their recorded slots.

A podcasts tab could function as a means for users to navigate recorded spaces and generate more engagement on this content; Twitter it already shows live spaces in their own tabs. We'll have to wait to see what Twitter does with this feature before having that conversation.
