Moka.care gets more input for its corporate mental health service

The French start-up mocha.care has obtained a new round of financing Serie A of 16 million dollars (15 million euros). The company focuses on mental well-being in the workplace. It offers a complete service that sits between employees and HR departments.

leftlanecap leads the financing round together with the existing investor Singular participating. Another venture capital firm,Origins (co-founded by Blaise Matudi, Ilan Abehassera and Salomon Aiach) and Antoine Griezmann are investing in the company for the first time.

When people are feeling down, they often mention work as an ongoing problem. That's why mental health is becoming a hot topic for companies of all sizes and industries. And there are many reasons for this scenario.

First, companies want to create a positive company culture for their employees. But buying a pool table and displaying inspirational posters on the walls is not enough. Employees want to know that they can get help when they need it.

When employees first contact mocha.care, the company's team of psychologists helps you understand your personal situation. The startup can send some recommendations of professionals who work with the platform: it can be a psychologist, a certified trainer or a licensed therapist.

After that, you can contact a mental health professional in person or remotely. Depending on the contract mocha.care With the company, some sessions can be free and start paying if it becomes a regular treatment.

Human resources departments cannot spy on their employees. But they get a scorecard with various metrics, which help them take the pulse of the company. To complete the offer mocha.care also offers group sessions for managers and leaders so that they can improve their knowledge of mental well-being.

So far, 100 companies have subscribed to the service, which means that 15.000 employees can access mocha.care. Some clients include Spendesk, Qonto, ManoMano, RipCurl, Volcom, L'Oréal and Engie. With the latest round of funding, the company plans to iterate on its product and expand into new European markets.
